Olsen Cottage is a cosy, well equipped, 18th Century ship's carpenter’s cottage sleeping up to 4 people. It is situated on aptly named 'Sunnyside', just two minutes from the beach and the centre of the historic old village of Robin Hood's Bay. The whole area is an artist’s and photographer’s dream, not least the village itself, and there is a fascinating history everywhere to be discovered. Located on a peaceful residential cobbled 'street', away from the noise and bustle, yet close to the village centre, Olsen Cottage provides comfortable and spacious holiday accommodation for up to four people. There is a large ground floor kitchen/ dining room, with a large farmhouse table, recently fitted units including electric hob, oven and microwave, as well as a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, dining table & chairs, cupboards, ample pots & pans etc. The first floor has a character lounge, with smart TV, random stone fireplace and beamed ceiling. The shower room and WC is also situated on this floor. Both bedrooms are on the second floor, and have fitted wardrobes and drawers. The main bedroom has a double bed, and enjoys the benefit of a sea view. There are two fitted bunk beds in the second bedroom. Heating throughout is provided by electric radiators. We thank people for not smoking in the cottage, and advise that one well behaved pet only may be accepted by prior arrangement. Fast Wi-Fi Internet Access is now provided free of charge for guests. A car parking facility* at the nearby Fisherhead car park is available. *Please Note: The Fisherhead Car Parking facility is only for private cars and light vans up to 10cwt. It does not cover large vans, minibuses or campervans.

The name Olsen Cottage derives from a 19th century

Norwegian ship’s carpenter, Oscar Magnus Olsen, who married

his Captain’s daughter, came to live in the village and served

on the Lifeboat crew. Jane Olsen bought the cottage in 1903

for all of £50 - if you decide to book a visit, look out for the

copy of the house deeds framed on the kitchen wall. Look at

the signatures. They tell a story.
